Happy Independance day.........
First,
I would like to thank you all for your wonderful support and valuable
suggestions. That’s a real boost for me to write and gain more knowledge about jewellery
designing.
Do
you know from where I got the best appreciation for my work? Last week, unexpectedly
one of my friends came to my house. I was really thrilled to hear that she came
not to meet me; but to learn about ornaments making. It was through this blog, she
came to know about my interest. This
made me realize that lot many people who are interested to make their own
jewelleries are not doing so coz lack of knowledge about tools and the material
sources. It was nice to share my knowledge, ideas and experiences with her on
tools and raw materials used. This made me realize that with this light blog, i
could pull-in more people to the world of jewellery creation.
What
about beads? I know many of you have not even bothered to make any bead... but
I hope some of you would have thought of making something good out of waste
things, which was my intention of writing it..
I am eager to know about your experiences. Your comments and suggestions
are always welcome.
When
I started, it was my Mom-in-law who helped me to get basic understanding about
tools and materials. Anybody new to this world of jewellery making should have
these information handy. This prompted me to write something on these and as
fuel to the fire, some of the readers have asked me for the same. So, today I
am going to show you how to make a pair of earrings and the tools required for
making it.
It’s a girls dream to have a matching earring
for her outfit. So for anybody, it is
also a good gift option for their loved ones. If you have the time, and creativity,
it is very easy to make and is inexpensive too. (Hey guys: Gifting these handmade jewellery
is the best way to impress your special one.., and of course it is light on
your pocket too .....!! lol..)
Materials
required:
- Beads (available in beads and craft shops or make your own)
- 2 Earring hooks (you can get those from any crafts shop)
- 2 Medium headpins(or you can use eye pins)
- Cutter(cutting extra part of headpins)
- Round nose pliers(to make loops)
The picture above will help you to identify the materials in
the market.
Select
the beads of your choice and string it on the headpin.
Cut
the extra part of headpin using the cutter and bend the edge of headpin with
your pliers (rotate it clockwise and make a loop).
Take
an earring hook and string the loop part on the earring hooks and close the
hook with pliers.
Earring
is ready!
Note:
Eye pins are used for earrings made with objects, which has larger holes to
loop in the wire, where as head pins use for smaller holed beads or object.
So,what are you waiting for...? Start your creation.....share your
experience.....ALL THE BEST!.
